memorial day 2002
This was almost a good picture. I took it out of the car window driving from Pittsburgh to Philadelphia on Memorial Day. It had been raining a little and we had just left one of those rather surreal state managed rest stops on the Pennsylvannia Turnpike. I'm sure they were headed to a patriotic event in Philadelphia --this was the first Memorial Day post 9-11. There were American flags waving furiously from both riders' bikes. It was an unusual moment and trying to capture it with what turned out to be only one opportunity was pure chance --and I missed. I still like the photo and other images taken from moving cars.
